Political and books page cartoonist, caricaturist, writer and broadcaster. As well as the publications listed in the short profile, my work has appeared in Today, The New Statesman, Granta, The Observer, The Daily Express, Sunday Today, Sunday Tribune, The Irish Times and a whole pile of other places too.

For some reason or other (probably a joke) Ken Livingstone appointment me his "Cartoonist Laureate" in 2001, in exchange for one pint of London Pride bitter per annum (currently 5 years in arrears).

I won the Cartoon Arts Trust Political Award in 2000 and 2003, and the Political Cartoon Society's Cartoon of the Year in 2002 and 2007.

I'm also chairman of the British Cartoonists' Association, an honorary associate of the National Secular Society and a former vice-president of the Zoological Society of London (honest!).

My books include two graphic novels, versions of T.S. Eliot's "The Waste Land" and Laurence Sterne's "Tristram Shandy". I've also had published a novel, "Snatches", a memoir of my dead parents, "Stuff" and a plea for irrational atheism called "The Dog Allusion". Enjoy!
