I can't actually remember ticking the career box marked 'cartoonist'. The profession probably crept up on me while I was distracted. Gaining a mediocre degree in graphic design, being unsuited to a 'proper' job and having a penchant for absurd humour undoubtedly helped its advance. Oh well, I'm here now - let's make the best of it! Cut to the chase. I've been doodling with and without 'witty' captions for over a decade and my work has been deemed worthy to grace the pages of Reader's Digest, The Spectator, The Oldie and the now defunct Punch among others. I've also been commissioned by important companies and organisations like M&G Investments, Gwent Police and the charity Care for the Family. I like working with traditional materials like pencils, pens and paints as I find them more energy efficient and far less frustrating than using computerised means. I'm 'tech savvy' enough, however, to be able to send work via email or disk!
Working as a cartoonist can be tremendous fun but also hard work. Brains are regularly fried trying to think up fresh and amusing ideas for our audiences. Please bear that in mind while you are enjoying these cartoons. And then assuage your guilt by commissioning me! I look forward to your requests.
